Blakehurst Public believes that sport enhances a child's self-confidence and provides opportunities for the learning of valuable teamwork skills.  To this end, B.P.S provides a compehensive in-school and interschool sports program.

Blakehurst Public school is competitive in interschool PSSA:

Teams include:

• Junior and Senior Girls Softball - winter sport
• Junior and Senior Girls Netball - summer sport
• Junior and Senior Boys Soccer - winter sport
• Junior and Senior Boys Cricket - summer sport

Blakehurst Public offers a special weekly swimming program targeting reluctant swimmers.  Our ten-day intesive swimming scheme for Year 2 and 3 ensures that all Blakehurst children accessed swimming lessons.

K-3 participate in gymnastics  during Term 3.

Every year children at Blakehurst years 3 - 6 compete in the school athletic, swimming and cross country carnivals.  A number of our student successfully compete in the Regional Carnivals.
